The Lawson Academy was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves access to a rigorous, character-driven education — regardless of zip code or income. As a free, open-enrollment public charter school in Houston, Texas, we've built a learning environment where academics, integrity, and community come together.
Serving scholars from Pre-K 3 through 8th Grade, we combine a strong academic foundation with enriching programs in STEM, arts, athletics, and character education. Our single-gender model for grades 6–8 allows us to tailor instruction to the unique social and emotional needs of boys and girls during their most critical developmental years.
